Privacy Policy

NucleusOG (“NucleusOG”, “we”, “us”) is a private messaging service used by an educator or institute and the students in their batch. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at teambeastchemist@gmail.com.

For students under 18 (and their parents/guardians): NucleusOG is meant to be used with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. A minor should only use NucleusOG after their parent or guardian has agreed to this policy. Parents/guardians may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child’s information.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
Profile details. Information shown to your batch, such as your display name and (if added) your city and target exam year.
Content you share. The messages you send, and any photos, videos, or documents you upload, along with reactions and responses to polls.
Notification data. If you turn on notifications, the technical subscription your browser provides so we can send you push alerts.
Technical & usage data. Standard information such as device and browser type, log data, and cookies used only to keep you signed in securely.

2. How we use your information

To provide the service — delivering your messages, files, announcements, and notifications within your batch.
To keep the service safe — preventing spam and abuse, and allowing educators to moderate their batch.
To maintain and improve reliability and security.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or behavioural tracking.

3. Children’s data

Where a user is under 18, we rely on parental or guardian consent for the processing of their information, and we do not use their data for advertising or to track them. Parents/guardians can ask us to access, correct, or delete their child’s data using the contact details below.

4. Who can see your information

NucleusOG is private by design. Within a batch:

Your educator and any sub-admins they appoint can see and moderate the messages and files posted in the channels and direct messages they manage.
Other students in your batch can see your name and profile picture and the messages you post in shared channels.
Students cannot see each other’s phone numbers, and direct messages are limited to you and your educator.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run NucleusOG. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide the service:

Supabase — secure database and file storage that holds your account, messages, and uploads.
Google — sign-in (authentication).
Vercel — hosting of the application.
Your browser’s push service — to deliver notifications, if you enable them.

Your information may be stored or processed on servers operated by these providers.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. You and your educator can delete messages and files at any time. When you ask us to delete your account, or when it is no longer needed, we delete your personal data, except where we must keep it to comply with the law.

7. Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete your personal data, and you may withdraw your consent. You also have the right to grievance redressal. To exercise any of these, email teambeastchemist@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Security

Access to your data is limited to your batch, data is encrypted while in transit, and uploaded files are kept in private storage reachable only through short-lived, signed links. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be communicated within the app.
